Hi,
I'm using Afanasy to render Maya-2017 files on a Windows-server based render-farm, It does work but most of the times, Maya crashes and it leaves Afanasy in a dead position, only showing the Maya crash dialog and then I need to restart the afrender in order to re-submit any job on that blade.
Can you please help me find out if its Windows-Server OS which might be creating the issue or it could be something else.
Installation on Windows Server
Re: Installation on Windows Server
Hi.
As far as i understand, you are talking about afrender client on windows, not about afserver.
Showing any dialogs along with a graphics session generally on a render farm is not a good work-flow.
But it works on windows normally. And our studio has some windows clients too, with a logged-in graphics sessions.
For annoying dialogs there is a:
http://cgru.info/afanasy/render#windows_must_die
Add a dialog name there and it will be closed by afrender.
But the best work flow is Linux afserver and afrenders with no graphics sessions at all.

Re: Installation on Windows Server
Hi,
Thanks for your reply, yes I am using afrender on a windows machines as rendering client.
So, what should I exactly mention in the "af_render_windowsmustdie" configuration? is it process name of the crashed application?

Re: Installation on Windows Server
I checked and the title of the window shows. "Application Error" and the content show "maya.exe has stopped working.", I've updated the config's windowmusdie section with "Application Error". Is this correct?
Re: Installation on Windows Server
I do not know.
You should edit windowmusdie for an afrender client (afserver does know nothing about it).
And restart afrender after each edit to reread changed config.
